COVER STORIES

SPENCER ESCAPES TO SYDNEY Spencer P. Jones & The Escape Committee is making a return to Sydney and is being joined by Carrie Phillis & The Downtown Three, who are launching their brand new single, Let's Go (out late January on Conquest Of Noise Records). If youʼre down Wollongong way, you can catch both acts at the Corrimal Hotel on Saturday, 1st February at the Corrimal Hotel, with special local guests, The Numbered. Then, on Sunday, 2nd February, it's an all-day affair at the Petersham Bowling Club. Also on this killer bill are power pop supergroup, Loose Pills, cowpunk veterans, Deadwood 76, garage punk lunatics, the Escapes and raucous alt-country singer/songwriter, Dave Favours. Spencer P. Jones will also be appearing solo at the Green Room Lounge on Friday, 31st January with Dave Favours.

FINAL MASUAK OZ GIGS
Catch Chris Masuak at Lazybones Lounge at Marrickville on Saturday night in a two-setter with support from The Dunhill Blues. The fun starts at 8.30pm. On Friday, January 17, Masuak and the Klondike Redezvous Band will be on a bill headlined by the SC5 and opened by The Four Stooges at The Bald Faced Stag at Lecihhardt, paying tribute to (what else?) the music of Detroit, Michigan. Tickets are on sale here. The final Masuak show is a three-set early evening gig on Sunday, January 19 at Ruby L'otel on Victoria Road at Rozelle in Sydney. That one kicks off at 6pm with no support.

69BC ALFOAT!
It's the season for cruising on Sydney Harbour. Garage gronks 69BC play a rare gig with the primal HYMG on Saturday, January 18. The boat leaves at 12.30pm and you can Paypal $25 to grandwiz@bigpond.com to secure a ticket.
